UK Senior Golf Association

United Kingdom Senior Golf Association UKSGA

Welcome to the UK Senior Golf Association(UKSGA).

Since its formation in 2001 the UKSGA has become the focal point for Senior golfers looking to play competitive Scratch golf on quality venues, in a friendly and supportive environment predominantly in England & Wales.

The Association is affiliated to the European Senior Golf Association (ESGA) and this has influenced the format of the competitive golf offered by UKSGA. With members from 55 years to more than 80 years old we are an inclusive Association providing scratch golf across the entire membership. In addition  we enter teams into the ESGA team championships at Seniors (55+), Masters (65+) and Super Masters (75+) every year.

From modest beginnings we now run eighteen 36 hole scratch events across the golfing year from October to September with members qualifying to represent the Association in the ESGA Team championships from our Order of Merits. The golfing year culminates in our National Finals in September.

The Association welcomes applications for membership from male golfers with Category 1 handicaps and from players 65 years and above with handicaps of 7 or better. We have more than 450 members including several who have won National Senior titles and represented their countries in European Seniors team championships and/or the Seniors Home Internationals.

While a competitive Association we pride ourselves in ensuring that our members enjoy their golf in a friendly and inclusive environment.

Phil Bramall shoots 2 rounds of level par 70 to beat Martin Cooper on 147 and 5 players on 148 with David Pain taking the bronze medal on countback from Martin Fell, Craig Pates,Mike Ready and Nigel Phillips. Ian Foster won his first S/S title since turning 65 last October but an old favourite in Chris Reynolds led the Masters home with 152. Nigel Phillips was the clear winner of the handicap prize with Nett 67+69 to be 4 clear. Thanks to our Ball sponsor Callaway we did have a free ball sweep but not a 2s sweep as there were 48 2s including 4 at the 1st hole. The CSS stayed at 72 showing the strength in depth of the association and thanks to GM Tim Knight and Captain George Copley and all at Porters Park who made it a very successful first visit. We look forward to returning

Gareth Bradley shoots -4 2nd round 68 to claim victory as the UKSGA go from the heat of Huntercombe to the soaking of Day 1. Only with the fantastic help from Tim and his team in the Proshop and Greg and all the groundstaff did we manage to get everybody round as the heavens opened, and just to make it interesting we also needed the Paramedics and Green Flag breakdown.
