Dalgarno wins at Moseley as Laura has eyes on Italy 2026

A warm welcome from both the weather and the staff at Moseley GC greeted us on Thursday morning, the course provided a tricky test with firm fairways and lightning greens, getting passed the first five holes close to par proved difficult for most. However scoring was excellent on the first day with Stewart Dalgarno shooting a fine 73 to lead by one from Gary Mumford, Simon Goldsmith, Ian Newlove, David Price and Gerry Penfold. With others just behind them. Day two started fine for the Breakfast club boys going out early but the breeze picked up during the day to 25mph causing the scoring to become harder with the best score of 75 coming from local man Martin Fell and the overall Gold medal winner Stewart Dalgarno. Gary Mumford holed a monster putt on the last to take Silver,(not a surprise seeing him practice all day and night on the Thursday, just not sure which of the six putters he practiced with he used?) Two 76’s from George Wilson helped him pip Phillip Bramall to Bronze on countback, Phil won the prize for the over 65’s, Ashley Brewers fine 76 on the Friday was rewarded the over 70’s top spot, Alan Macnaught continued his fine form to collect the over 75’s prize, Mark Hyam took the handicap prize with two fine rounds. All prizes were all presented by the Moseley Captain, Mr Ned Barker, a nice touch from this wonderful venue who couldn’t do enough to ensure we all had a great experience at their home club. Next venue for us all is at Moor Park, a few spaces available I believe. The over 65’s & 75’s teams head to Aarhus in Denmark on the 13th July to hopefully return with some Silverware.
