Ready is more than at Clitheroe
For those that made the trip north to Clitheroe for our first but hopefully not last visit we were welcomed ,looked after and can report the sun always shines in Lancashire.(Even England won 1-0)
Clitheroe was in superb condition and a delight to play even if a couple of ditches did get in the way and Mike Ready led us home with 72+76 followed by Craig Pates 76+75 (Moseley GC) and Malcolm Cawte 78+75 (Selsey GC). In the S/Snrs Jimmy Johnston 79+79 (The Northumberland GC) claimed the 250 points beating Laurie Baker 79+80 (Chelmsford GC) and in 3rd on 160 some old favourites, namely G Meddings, R Smethurst, B Mitchell and DPattrick.
The Masters was won by Roy Smethurst 80+80 (Crewe GC) followed by John Yuill (Newmarket GC) and Neil Hughes (Gog Magog GC).
The handicap prize went to Nigel Clowes 71+72 on countback from Laurie Baker and we would all like to thank Nigel, the Board, Susan and all the staff at Clitheroe for making our event such a success.
