Holme Hall proved its free draining potential by enabling us all to get round 36 holes with only a little help from a trio of squeeqy operators!
Persistant rain on day 1 with only a few dry spells on Day 2 tested the players and their waterproofs and hotel drying facilities to the full but a warm welcome from the club enabled the event to be a success and best wishes for all our competitors at the English Seniors in June.
At the end of the two days new members Gareth Bradley (Bramhall GC) and Graham Forrest (The Northumberland GC) led the way with the latter taking the Gold medal with scores of 74+70 beating Gareth who shot 72+73. Third place went to one of our less new members Phil Bramall (Chart Hills) ably assisted by his wife Lucy who kept him and his scorecards dry to record 73+75. Well done Lucy.
Jimmy Johnston also from The Northumberland GC took the S/S prize with 76+82 and Simon Ostrom with an excellent second round of nett 70 took the handicap prize on Nett 145
Regular Masters stalwart Glyn Rees took the Masters prize with 79+77 but left before I got a photo so we have used one of the many wildlife pictures of two ducks enjoying the wet weather on the putting green. Thank you to Kevin Diss for the pictures.
See you at Aberdovey where drier weather is promised.
