As the rain cleared and the glorious views of Poole Harbour and the Sandbanks area were revealed a very difficult Isle of Purbeck course played its full length as our players enjoyed dry bright but cold temperatures at our first UK event of 2019. Malcolm Cawte was a model of consistency winning the Gold Medal with 76+76 followed by an unfortunate Phil Bramall 74+79 and fast finishing Les Bruckner 78+76. Stephen Whymark making a welcome return from injury took the Masters prize with 82+86, the always smiling Basil Griffiths was the Super Seniors winner with 75+82 and David Barclay took the Seniors prize with 74+80. Gerry Penfold won the the best Handicap prize with scores of nett 73+74 which was excellent scoring given the CSS was 74 R/O both days
