The rankings, which will be presented in age groups (55+, 65+ and 70+), will be based upon the best 6 results from the previous 16 qualifying competitions.
Teams to represent the Association will ideally be selected 2 months prior to the competition, minimizing the period between qualifying and representing the Association but allowing time to manage diaries and travel. The top players in the relevant UKSGA Rankings for the ESGA Championships & Cups will automatically qualify. Players competing in the ESGA competitions will not be eligible for overseas representational duties within the same season, in order to give other members an opportunity to play.
A listing of all representational competitions/matches for 2023 can be seen as a downloadable PDF below, showing the play date, team selection date and playing format in order to deliver a transparent process, visible to all members.
For the ESGA Super Seniors & Masters Championships in Norway in June 2023 the best 6 and best 4 performances performances between Woodhall Spa 2022 and Princes 2023 will be used to determine the UKSGA Scratch & Handicap teams.
For the ESGA Seniors Championships in Portugal, the best 6 performances between Woodhall Spa 2022 and Princes 2023 will be used to determine the UKSGA Scratch & Handicap teams.
In the same vein:
For the SSGS match, the Norway match and the Sweden match, the Ranking tables 2 months prior to the competition will be used to select teams.
Where selected team players are unavailable, then players lower in the rankings will be invited along with 20/25% Committee picks for non-ESGA competitions/matches
These are based upon the best 6 scores from any of the competitions from the last to the next National Finals Day. Salvers are presented to all age category winners in both the scratch & handicap divisions. Current Champions and historic winners are listed under the COMPETITIONS - BOARD Competitions tab above
