Playing Southerness GC and Silloth GC was clearly not for the faint of heart even in July!
The wind at Southerness resulted in only 9 players breaking 80 on day 1 and 4 only on day 2 in a field of 52 players.
Tim Whittaker took the Association Gold Medal with 74 & 75; Russell Twaithes the Silver Medal with 77 & 76 and Jimmy Johnson the Bronze with 78 & 77.
The Super Seniors division was won by John Yuill with rounds of 77 & 80;
the UK Masters division by Stuart Pond with 78 & 84
and the ESGA Masters division by Roy Smethurst with 80 & 83.
With a days rest and a latitude drop to a milder Cumbria our golfers proved slightly better with 11 players breaking 80 on day 1 and 5 on day 2 in an increased field of 64 players at Silloth GC with rain and multiple blind holes replacing the wind....
David Nelson notched up his first Gold with a marvellous 74 & 75; local boy Andrew Atkinson (Windemere GC) took silver with 74 & 76 on his maiden outing and Jonathon Perry took his first medal with a 74 & 79 to take the bronze.

the UK Masters division by John Yuill with 78 & 82
and the ESGA Masters division by Roy Smethurst again (!) with 78 & 83.
