Gershinson leads from the front at Druids

Our first visit to Druids Heath had it all, but Mark Gershinson (Hartsbourne GC) stayed cool as he led from start to Finish  to claim the Gold Medal with rounds of 73+72 from a fast finishing Paul Knight (Wanstead GC) with 76+72 with ever young Glyn Rees (Fleetwood GC) taking the Bronze position with 76+74 closely followed by  Stephen Mason (Wakefield GC) on 151  and Craig Pates (Moseley GC) 152.

The S/S was dominated by Glyn Rees and Stephen Mason with Jimmy Johnstone (The Northumberland GC) in 3rd place and similar in the Masters where G Rees again picked up 250 pts with Basil Griffiths 2nd and Messrs Pond and Smethurst tying for 3rd.

In the handicap section a welcome (one(PE) may say surprising) return to form for Julian Brand (Walton Heath GC) who smashed the nett competition with 72+69

The Golf Course was in excellent condition and the welcome and friendliness of the Staff along with Captain Rob and President Ivan who between them did all the starting made our visit one to remember even if the weather was not at its best.

We move up the M6 to Prestbury next
