If you are over 55 and playing off 8 handicap or below why not enter one of our competitions and meet some of the UKSGA members for some friendly but competitive golf. UKSGA play on top courses across the country.

You don't have to be a member to play your first UKSGA event. Membership fees will only fall due on your second event. So why not come and see what you are missing? The next UKSGA events are:

UKSGA South East Championship
18th at Copthorne
Glyn Rees (Fleetwood) won the UKSGA South East Championship at Copthorne by a shot from Phil Corke (John O'Gaunt) with Doug Arnold (Copthorne) third.
Thanks to our sponsors for this event, Precision Golf.
They offered a special sponsors prize of a completely free assessment for the winner of the award, worth about £170. Won by Robert Heppenstall as The Most Improved Player!

XXIX ESGA Seniors Championship & Cup 13-15th July
UKSGA Scratch & Handicap Teams
The UKSGA scratch team won the ESGA Championship at Royal Waterloo Golf Club in Belgium. David Lane (Goring & Streatley) captained the team which included Roy Smethurst (Crewe), Adrian Donkersley (Gerrards Cross), Robert Gill (Gerrards Cross), Stuart Pond (Worksop) and Glyn Rees (Fleetwood). Roy won the individual scratch prize.
The UKSGA handicap team finished tied fourth

ESGA Masters 15-18th June
UKSGA sent two teams to the XIth ESGA Masters Seniors Championship and Cup at Franciacorta Golf Club in Italy. The scratch team won the Championship and the handicap team tied third in the Cup

UKSGA Southern Championship (Sponsored by Callaway Golf)
The UKSGA Southern Championship at Worthing Golf Club was won by Gerry Nash (The Dyke) with a score of 147. Eric Reekie (Worthing) was runner-up on 149.

UKSGA London & Home Counties Championship
The UKSGA London & Home Counties Championship was played on 26 & 27th May at Camberley Heath. Doug Arnold (Copthorne) won with a score of 147 with Billy Mitchell on 148 and Chris Reynolds (Littlestone) on 150. Jan Kleijne from Holland was given the Guest Prize. Results

North Foreland Seniors Masters
At the end of April Chris Reynolds (Littlestone) won the North Foreland Seniors Masters by 5 shots from Doug Arnold (Copthorne). Results

May 2010

Jock Lawrence Seniors
Mike Wilde (Camberley Heath) won the Jock Lawrence Seniors at Kingsdown by 5 shots from Tom McEvoy. Result gross, net

West of England Seniors
Roy Smethurst (Crewe) won the West of England Seniors run by the Somerset Golf Union at Burnham & Berrow. This was after a tie on 151 with Glyn Rees (Fleetwood) and sudden death play off. Doug Arnold (Copthorne) was third on 152. Result

Shankland Trophy
Glyn Rees (Fleetwood) won the Shankland Trophy at Parkstone Golf Club by 5 shots from Gilbert Runnicles (Gerrards Cross) with Doug Arnold (Copthorne) and Reg Neal (Manning Heath) tied third. Age group prizes were:
55-59 Nick Rogers
60-64 James Wilson
65-69 Roy Smethurst
70+ Pat Horkan

French Seniors 2
Roy Smethurst (Crewe) won the French Seniors 2 (over 65) Championship at Lys Chantilly by 8 shots from Geoff King (West Essex)

UKSGA Welsh Championship
Adrian Donkersley (Gerrards Cross) won the UKSGA Welsh Championship at Southerndown after a four way tie. Second was Billy Mitchell, third Ron Nightingale (Frilford Heath) and Michael Holland (Highgate) also on 158 took the A Category medal. John Povall (Minchinhampton) won the net prize with 150

Portuguese Seniors
David Lane (Goring & Streatley) won the Portuguese Seniors Individual Championship by 10 shots at Estoril.
