UKSGA Order of Merit
Second place in the UKSGA Championship was sufficient to give Glyn
Rees (Fleetwood) the UKSGA 2008 Scratch
Order of Merit.
Reg Neal (Mannings Heath) secured enough points in the UKSGA
Championship for a single point margin over Neil Franklin (Beaconsfield)
and so take the UKSGA 2008 Handicap Order
of Merit
UKSGA Championship
Chris
Reynolds (Littlestone) is the 2008 UKSGA
Champion.
Chris had rounds of 72+75=147 at Trevose to win by 5 shots from Glyn
Rees (Fleetwood) and Terry Brown (Stand)

2009 British Senior Amateur
The R&A have changed the conditions for the
2009 British Senior Amateur by reducing the field to 144 players
over a single course with a 3.0 handicap limit, so endeavouring to
ensure that the event remains a test of elite golf
South East Region Autumn Meeting
Ron Collie won the South East
Autumn Meeting at Royal Blackheath with 148 gross. There were four
players tied on 150, Jonathan Lipton, Alan MacNaught, David Townsend and
Harry Williams

Namibia Tour 2009
The Association has been invited by the Seniors of Namibia to tour
in February 2009.
The provisional
itinerary will be finalised once we can confirm that members wish to
visit
North Region Meeting
Glyn Rees (Fleetwood) won the North
Region Meeting at Blackpool North Shore after a card play-off on 149
with Neil Franklin (Beaconsfield). Michael Heritage (Blackmoor) was
third on 150 and Phil Ansell took the nett with 140
AGM
The Annual General Meeting of the United Kingdom Senior Golf Association
will be held at Royal Blackheath Golf Club immediately after the prize
presentation for the Autumn Meeting on Wednesday, 15 October at approx.
2.30 pm

UKSGA Chairman's Letter
The Chairman, Brian Evans, has congratulated UKSGA players for their
performances in the recent ESGA Championship & ESGA Masters events

ESGA Championship & ESGA Masters
The UKSGA Scratch Team won the
ESGA Team Championship by 26 strokes at Celadna in the Czech
Republic at the end of July. Also the UKSGA Handicap Team came second in
the ESGA Team Cup
The UKSGA Scratch Masters Team came second in the
ESGA Masters Team Championship at Tilburg in Holland at the
beginning of August
UKSGA Invitational Meeting
The draw for the
Invitational Meeting at Burnham Beeches is now available
All guests should fill in an
Application Form but will enjoy courtesy until 1 Jan 2009 and not
have to pay an Entry Fee.
The cost of the day is £55 per player including meal - thanks to Terry
Jackson, General Manager at Burnham Beeches
British Senior Open Amateur
Chris Reynolds (Littlestone) made a valiant attempt to secure the
British Senior Open Amateur Championship from a very strong American
challenge. Chris' brilliant inward half of 31, 5 under par, for a 69 and
the low round of the Championship left him 2 shots off the eventual
winner Paul Simpson of the USA
UKSGA v South African Seniors

A match was arranged prior to the
British Senior Amateur Open between a UKSGA select side and South
African Seniors over for the British Seniors. The venue was Broome Park
Golf and Country Club near Canterbury. The UKSGA side opened up a 4 game
gap after the morning foursomes but the South Africans staged a come
back in the afternoon singles. The match ended in a friendly 7½ games
each
